What is the density of pp sheet

The conventional density of PP (polypropylene) sheet is 0.90~0.92 g/cm³, which is also the core density characteristic of polypropylene substrate. The density of PP sheets with different processes and modification types may vary slightly, which can be specifically divided into two categories:

Pure unmodified PP sheet: without filling or toughening modification, with a stable density of 0.90~0.91 g/cm³, which is the most common density value for general-purpose PP sheets;

Modified/filled PP sheet: By adding inorganic fillers such as talcum powder and calcium carbonate, or glass fiber reinforced PP sheet, the density will increase with the increase of filling ratio. The density of conventional filled products is about 0.93~1.2 g/cm³ (the higher the filling ratio, the greater the density).

The low density characteristic of PP sheet is also one of its advantages. Compared to PVC sheet (1.3~1.45 g/cm³) and PET sheet (1.38 g/cm³), it is lighter and more suitable for lightweight product applications.
